SPECIAL NOTE REGARDING "ON-LINE" COURSES FOR WEST VIRGINIA
As part of the process for West Virginia continuing education, we will email you a letter of explanation, a student affidavit and a short quiz as soon as we are notified of your purchase. This is because Dearborn Real Estate Education is not authorized to issue certificates of completion that are acceptable to the West Virginia Real Estate Commission on courses, but we are, if you complete this short quizz and the required affidavit.
It is anticipated that the following Seven Hour Continuing Education Courses will be available soon via mail at a cost of $39.00. If five or more people order a correspondence course OR register for an In-Class Session at the same time, there is a price break of $4 per course or $35.00.
Beginning May 1, 2010 and continuing through June 30, 2010, the cost of each of these courses will be $50 due to the fact that extra staffing is required to process these courses in time for the license renewal on June 30, 2010. The only exception to this will be the students who enroll, prior to April 30, 2010, in one of the "IN-CLASS" sessions to be given in May or June, 2010.
COURSES AVAILABLE BY CORRESPONDENCE
Special Note: Due to the cost of processing and handling, a $10.00 charge will be applied to any course that is cancelled if the materials are returned unused.
-
Buyer Representation - Some of us think we are serving as "sub-agents" when we are really violating the law and have inadvertently created an undisclosed dual agency by our actions or unintended words. This course will help you understand what to do to keep yourself out of this jam.
-
Property Management - A lot of agents woul like to manage property, but have no idea how to go about doing it. This course is designed to give you the basics of what it is all about. It touches on how to secure and handle clients, what types of reports to the clients are common and what services are usually included in managing property.
-
Fair Housing - This course concentrates on what the law requires you to do. Sometimes we let what we "Think" is right control what we do. This may or may not be the "Legal" thing to do. This course presents the history of the various laws and how they are meant to be used.
-
Introduction To Commercial Real Estate Sales - This course is not designed for the agent who has been dealing with true commercial real estate for years. It is merely a primer on what this business is all about. It will educate the beginner as to what prospective purchasers need to know in order to make a decision to purchase income generating property.
-
Red Flags - A Property Inspection Guide - Not everyone has enough experience to understand what a contractor or home inspector is talking about. This course puts you "in the know" as to what things are and what some of the jargon means in dealing with the physical and mechanical components of any house.
